AWG Legal Advisory Panel

The work of AWG is enhanced by an informal and external legal advisory panel, composed of leading practitioners of international aviation finance law. The main purposes of the Legal Advisory Panel (Panel) are:

i.   to provide thoughts and support to AWG on the implementation and institutionalisation of the Cape Town Convention, and

ii.  to discuss, critique and provide advice to AWG on other possible law reform activities consistent with its purpose.

AWG supervises the work of its Legal Advisory Panel on the relationship between Cape Town and contractual practices. These materials are intended to assist in informed and efficient contracting under Cape Town. 

 

Building upon volume 1 and 2 of the Series Cape Town Papers, the panel is now working on a comprehensive handbook designed to provide practical assistance to practitioners in working with the Cape Town Convention (Practitioners Handbook.  It will be available in electronic form later this year and will be updated periodically.

Volume 1, "Contract Practices under the Cape Town Convention" .  This initial volume sets forth a basic framework for assessing the implications of the Cape Town Convention for contracts, easing the transition to a legal regime governed by these instruments.
