IAWG supervises the work of its Legal Advisory Panel
on the relationship between Cape Town and contractual practices. These materials are intended to
assist in informed and efficient contracting under Cape Town.
Building upon volume 1 and 2 of the Series
Cape Town Papers,
the panel is now working on a comprehensive handbook designed to
provide practical assistance to practitioners in working with the
Cape Town Convention (Practitioners
Handbook. It will be available in electronic form later
this year and will be updated periodically.
Volume 2 of the Series,
entitled “Advanced Contract and Opinion Practices under the Cape

Volume 1, "Contract Practices under the Cape
Town Convention" . This initial volume sets forth a basic
framework for assessing the implications of the Cape Town Convention
for contracts, easing the transition to a legal regime governed by
these instruments. It was published by the Uniform Law Foundation in
2004.
